Naomi enrolled in a Florida Championship Wrestling training school after deciding she wanted to be a wrestler.

Unlike other professional wrestlers, Naomi, however, never had the opportunity to compete in promotions prior to joining WWE.

Nonetheless, she was signed directly by WWE in August 2009 and assigned to FCW. Additionally, she was given the ring moniker “Naomi.”

Naomi made her professional wrestling debut in FCW with Alex Riley as her tag team partner against Aj Lee and Bret DiBiase. Regrettably, she was defeated in that encounter.

Naomi was later announced to be a part of NXT’s all-female third season on August 31. Naomi was assigned Kelly Kelly as her mentor (Pro).
