Tywon Lawson

Tywon Rowell Lawson, better known by his nickname Ty Lawson, is a former NBA player from the United States. He now plays basketball for the Basketball Africa League’s US Montasir (BAL). In the 2009 NBA draft, he was chosen by the Minnesota Timberwolves. He did, however, make his NBA debut with the Denver Nuggets. Ty played college basketball for the North Carolina Tar Heels men’s basketball team before joining the NBA.

Career in College

Career in the NBA

Lawson joins the NBA League after bypassing his senior year of college. He was the 18th pick in the first round by the Minnesota Timberwolves. However, he was quickly traded to the Denver Nuggets.

He was given about 65 games by the Nuggets, and he more than lived up to the hype. In his rookie season, Lawson averaged 8.3 points per game.
