Career
Haslem received an athletic scholarship from the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida. He played for the Gators squad and majored in leisure involvement from 1998 to 2002. Haslem was unable to be picked in the 2002 NBA draft due to his height of 6’6″. After that, Shaw’s Pro Summer League made him their roaster and granted him a seat in the Atlanta Hawks’ training camp. At the beginning of the NBA season in 2002–2003, the Hawks waived Haslem. Then he joined Chalon-sur-Saone in the French LNB Pro A. In his lone season with the team, he scored 16.1 points and grabbed 9.4 rebounds per game.
Haslem had the good fortune to sign with his hometown team, the “Miami Heat,” on August 6, 2003. He took part in the Rookie Challenge over All-Star weekend and was selected for the NBA All-Rookie Second Team. He assisted his group in reaching the Eastern Conference Semifinals. In August 2005, he re-signed with the Heat. The team won their first NBA championship the following season under Haslem’s leadership, defeating the Dallas Mavericks 4-2 in the NBA Finals.

Haslem extended his deal with the Heat for five years and $20 million in 2010. In November 2020, Haslem and the Heat agreed to a new contract. During the 2020–21 season, he participated in just one game, a win over the Philadelphia 76ers. Haslem re-signed with the Heat on August 15, 2021.
