Ritu Banga began her career in advertising with Rediffusion, an IIMA alumni business. She later worked as a program manager for HCL, where she was in charge of marketing and sales for computer hardware and software. She eventually moved on to Mode, another IIM Calcutta alumni firm, where she conducted consumer products and services market research.

Ritu Banga established her own consulting firm, Point of View, in 1994, specializing in qualitative research and brand strategy. She worked with companies including Unilever, PepsiCo, Nestle, and Colgate-Palmolive, among others. She also led consumer behavior and marketing courses and seminars.

Ritu Banga relocated to the United States with her husband and children in 1997. She ran her consultancy firm remotely until 2004, when she decided to close it. She then concentrated on her family and community service. Then she joined the board of trustees of Marymount School of New York, a Catholic girls’ school. She was also a member of the American Institute of Architects’ New York chapter’s advisory committee.

Ritu Banga co-founded Zoomdojo in 2012, a social organization that gives students, new graduates, and startup entrepreneurs with online and offline employment resources and coaching.
