Who is Patrick Xavier Clark, the alleged assassin of Takeoff?

Houston Police Chief Troy Finner announced Friday that investigators have charged 33-year-old Patrick Xavier Clark with the murder of Migos rapper Takeoff. The announcement came roughly 31 days after Takeoff died.

On November 1, Takeoff, whose real name is Kirsnick Khari Ball, was killed by gunfire outside a private party at a Downtown Houston bowling alley. The shooting also injured two other people.

Takeoff was a member of the popular Atlanta-based group Migos. Other Migos members were related to him: Quavo was his uncle, and Offset was his cousin.

At a memorial service in State Farm Arena, fans mourned the 28-year-old musician’s death.

Finner stated that the investigation is still ongoing and that detectives are still looking for witnesses. Here’s what we learned from police on Friday about the Takeoff murder investigation:

What led police to charge Patrick Xavier Clark in the Takeoff death investigation?

A former Gwinnett County teacher is remembering Migos rapper Takeoff as the hunt for the shooter who struck and killed him in Houston earlier this week continues.

According to HPD Homicide Division Sgt. Michael Burrow, investigators had difficulty finding willing witnesses. Investigators heavily relied on video surveillance as well as cell phone video and audio. Not all of the video and audio evidence in the case was immediately available.

To confirm ballistic evidence, investigators reconstructed the shooting.

“Through that, we were able to deduce that Patrick Clark is the lethal shooter in the case,” Burrow said.

Where and When was Patrick Xavier Clark arrested?

A suspect has been arrested in the fatal shooting of rapper Takeoff in Houston last month. Patrick Xavier Clark, 33, has been charged with Takeoff’s murder, according to Houston Police Chief Troy Finner. He was apprehended on Thursday evening.

Clark was arrested on Sterling Green Boulevard in Houston on Thursday night, according to police.

The street is located in northwest Houston. A search reveals that the area is mostly made up of single-family homes.

Finner called the arrest “peaceful.” Finner implied that there was a large police presence present during the arrest.

“We’re going to come and get you professionally, but we’re going to come in force with everything we have, and he gave up,” Finner said.

What was the motive for the shooting to Rapper Takeoff?

After his death in a shooting in Houston, a mural honoring Migos rapper Takeoff now stands on the Atlanta BeltLine. Armondo Monoletti, the painter behind the tribute, joins Good Day to discuss what inspired him to pay tribute to the late rapper.

The shooting, according to police, occurred after a high-stakes dice game at a private party. Following the game, there was an argument that resulted in gunshots.

According to investigators, Takeoff was unarmed and a bystander.

“At the event, there was a lucrative dice game going on. Following that, there was an argument outside the bowling alley, which resulted in the shooting “Burrow stated. “I can tell you that Takeoff was not involved in the dice game, nor was he involved in the outside argument. He was unarmed.”

Finner stated that police are unsure whether Clark was invited to the party or whether he knew Takeoff. He didn’t go into detail about what happened during the game that caused tempers to flare.

What was Patrick Xavier Clark’s bond?

Clark’s bail has been set at $2 million.

According to court documents, Clark “applied for an expedited passport by submitting a travel itinerary for an upcoming flight to Mexico” shortly after Takeoff was killed.

Clark had a lot of money, according to the records. Prosecutors claimed he posed a flight risk.

How many people were around when Takeoff was shot?

According to Burrow, investigators discovered that more than 30 people were standing outside the bowling alley when the shooting occurred. The exact number was not released by the police.

Everyone left the scene without giving investigators a statement. Some people were apprehended by police the night of the shooting and in the days that followed.

Burrow stated that the investigation is ongoing and that it is critical that people come forward.

“We’ll be looking for you,” he said. “It will be more convenient if you come find us.”

How is Cameron Joshua involved?

Cameron Joshua, 22, was arrested on a felon in possession of a weapon charge in connection with the shooting, according to authorities.

Prosecutors stated in court that Joshua is not suspected of firing a weapon during Takeoff’s shooting.

Joshua was arrested on Nov. 22.

“We believe Cameron Joshua has been appropriately charged in this case, and we’re continuing our investigation into Takeoff’s death,” Harris County prosecutor Matt Gilliam said following the hearing on Wednesday.
