According to government officials, Tebello Motsoane and the rapper AKA visited Durban. They were shot and killed on February 10, 2023, in front of a restaurant in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. At the time, he was only 41 years old (at his death time). AKA also passed away there and then. They were all killed, and South Africa was left in shambles. On February 16, 2023, a memorial service was held at Sacred Heart College in Observatory, Johannesburg, in memory of Tibz. Several people showed up to Tibz’s burial to show their support.

Media reports claim that he was romantically involved with social media star, fashion, and lifestyle blogger Tshepi Vundla. The two had been in a love affair for many years, but kept it a secret.

However after only a few months of dating, they did split up because of personal problems. Some claim that Tshepi Vundla chose his stage name amid the ‘MeToo’ movement in 2018–2019.
