Aris Hampers (born May 4, 1949, died at the age of 73) was a radio legend, singer, and popular American personality. He was last heard on the air at WMAX-FM (Radio X). He was a radio star and DJ who worked as a radio presenter throughout his life.
When he was a legendary Radio artist, he was also a music director and a band member. On WLAV, he was known as the man who introduced Grand Rapids to rock and roll. Unfortunately, this legend is no longer with us.

He grew up in Grand Rapids as a passionate music lover. And he began learning music as a child. He started tapping to the beats of 1950s and 1960s music.
God bestowed musical talent upon Aris Hamper. He picked up the piano, organ, and other instruments quickly. He began composing music as a high school student. In 1967, he graduated from Ottawa Hills High School.
Aris and one of his friends started composing music and singing vocals. He then formed a band called ‘The SoulBenders’ with a friend. When he was in his band, he also won the music contest. He was well-known as the lead singer of his band during the 1960s and 1970s. ‘The SoulBenders’ later changed their name to ‘Phlegethon.’ DJ Hampers attended Western Michigan University.

What was the Major Cause of the Aris Hampers Death?
On February 5, 2023, the radio legend who had a great radio voice died. His musical knowledge was vast. He revealed to his family and fans in 2019 that he had been diagnosed with a cancerous tumour in his windpipe. Following that, he underwent emergency surgery, which was quite costly.
Doctors were able to remove the cancer from his windpipe after 14 days and two surgeries. Doctors at the time assured him that cancer would never return to his body. Cancer returned after a few years and began to affect his body.
When he died, it was not revealed whether Cancer was the primary cause of death, but all we know is that this legend is no longer among us.
Career, Radio Shows & Jobs
Aris Hampers began working at WVIC-FM in 1971, where he stayed for one year as a radio artist. In 1973, he joined WLAV-FM, where he remained until 1981. WFFX-FM offered him a position as Music Director in 1981. For one year, he worked as the Music Director at WFFX-FM.
Following that, Aris Hampers worked for WCUZ-FM from 1982 to 1984. He had always wanted to work for radio stations. As a result of this, he returned to WLAV-FM in 1984, this time as Music Director, where he remained until 1990.
He worked for WKLQ-FM for the next eight years, from 1990 to 1998. He previously stated that his 7-year tenure at WBFX-FM from 2000 to 2007 was the best. Aris was most recently employed at WMAX-FM (‘Radio X’) from 2008 to 2009. He left his job as a radio DJ and began working in other fields.
