Wil even attended the Basic Airborne School for training. He began his active duty duty in October 1993 as a member of the Army’s 3rd Ranger Battalion. Up until 1998, he spent nearly four and a half years working there.
Wil left the 3rd Army Ranger Battalion and trained with the 56th Rescue Squadron of the Air Force Para-rescue squad. The veteran spent the following ten years working for this task force, which is regarded as one of the hardest to work for. After assessing Wil’s achievement, the Sikorsky Rescue Award was given to him in 2001.
He was a member of the Rescue force, but he was also the Program Manager. After that, he went on to teach at Military Science and Technology, where he focused on teaching tactical trauma care. Despite serving as the Para Rescue Unit’s Regional Director of Operations, he left the service in 2008.
