NFL Siblings: Everything You Need to Know Travis and Jason Kelce

Meet the brothers making Super Bowl history.

Tonight’s 2023 Super Bowl in Glendale, Arizona will pit the Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs against one another, but the big game also ushers in a brand-new, historic moment in NFL annals: it will be the first time in the 57-year history of the Super Bowl that brothers will play against one another on different teams.

Viewers will tune in after the national anthem has been played to see who wins the game between the Chiefs and the Eagles as well as which Jason Kelce sibling will take home a Super Bowl ring:

Jason Kelce of the Eagles or Travis Kelce of the Chiefs.

Before the event known as the “Kelce Bowl,” here is all the information you need to know about Travis and Jason.

Where are the brothers Kelce from?

Despite the fact that Jason, the older brother, was really born in North Carolina, Travis and Jason were raised in Ohio. Travis is 33 and Jason is 35. At Cleveland Heights High School, they both participated in sports; Jason played linebacker and running back for the football team, while Travis also participated in basketball and soccer. Then, Travis accepted a scholarship offer from the University of Cincinnati, where he played for the Bearcats.

In the 2011 NFL Draft, the Eagles selected Jason, while the Chiefs selected Travis two years later. Their first championship matchup will take place this evening.

Ed Kelce, a steel salesman, and Donna Kelce, a woman who has gained notoriety in her own right in the run-up to the Super Bowl for wearing split apparel to support both of her boys equally throughout the season, are their parents. She said to Insider, “I have two split jerseys, one split jean jacket, and two split sneakers.”

Do Jason and Travis Kelce own championship medals?

The brothers have each won a Super Bowl: Travis with the Chiefs in 2019 and Jason with the Eagles in 2017. Travis has participated in the Pro Bowl eight times, while Jason has made the Pro Bowl six times.

With regard to the forthcoming championship game, Travis described it as “crazy and kind of strange.” “It’s amazing how everything has come together in this way. It’s a unique time. At the same time, I’m just trying to get a win for the Chiefs. It’s something we’ll remember for the rest of our lives.”

They’re not always rivals

Despite playing tonight on different sides of the field, Travis and Jason like working together. They co-host a podcast called New Heights where they discuss football and analyze significant League developments as they happen.

Cleveland Heights, Ohio, where they were raised, inspired the name of New Heights.
