Training Routine
Marcie used to get home for Trier training sessions after working early shifts. Marcie was in charge of rebounding and tallying Trier’s shots.
Trier hit 500 shots every day at the gym, starting from close range and working his way up to the 3-point line.
Trier will lose one point if she misses two shots in a row during practice. Marcie would then drive Trier to another local gym.
Trier put in a one-hour workout with the local high school, which included ball-handling, shooting, and intense one-on-one basketball.
These workouts were followed by Trier twice a week. They would then drive the downtown Seattle squad for roughly 2 hours with other A.A.U. teams.

First and Second Year
Trier and his mother relocated to Oklahoma after receiving an offer from Athletes First.
Trier spent his first year at Oklahoma City Storm, a sports-based program that serves homeschool and athletics in Oklahoma City.
Storm topped public schools in the region thanks to his offensive domination. Trier went on to become the first Storm player to reach 1000 points in the first year.
Trier, however, sought a move to NOAH, a Tusla-based home school, in August 2012.
The National Christian Home School Championship Eligibility Advisory Board, however, denied Allonzo’s transfer.
They voted 23-4 because Trier must reside with his parents or a local guardian in order to attend home school.
His mother, however, went to Tusla abruptly to make her kid eligible. Trier then began attending Cornerstone Tutorial Centre.
In the same year, Alonzo scored 64 points in an O.T. triumph over Bartlesville on Christmas Day.
Trier began looking for a new high school once her mother returned to Oklahoma City at the age of six.
Junior and Senior Year
Trier chose Montrose Christian, a school that has produced NBA players such as 2014 NBA MVP Kevin Durant, Greivis Vasquez, and others.
Trier blossomed under Bryan Bartley, scoring 24.6 points per game, 4.0 rebounds per game, and 2.8 assists per game.
Similarly, Allonzo led Montrose to a 20-5 overall record in the Christian Schools Athletic Association Division I title.
Allonzo was also named Gatorade State Player of the Year in Maryland in 2014.
Trier’s mother complained to the school about how the school bungled his academic schedule, and Trier was instructed to clip his dreadlocks.
Every best A.A.U. team throughout districts wanted to sign him for the summer Nike Elite Youth Basketball League during his final year.

Trier then opted to move to Findlay Prep for his senior year in June. Trier averaged 26.6 points per game and 5.4 rebounds per game in his last season at Findlay.
2015 MC Donalds All American
Trier was named a high-profile player in the 2015 MC Donald All-American game.
The athlete was a member of the West team, which included current NBA players Brandon Ingram and PJ Dozier.
Trier led the squad with 17 points but fell short of defeating West, who was paced by Cheick Diallo’s 18 points.
Jordan Brand Classic 2015

College Career
Freshman Year
Allonzo made his Arizona Wildcats debut against Chico State in an exhibition game. In his first game, he had 13 points, six rebounds, and three assists.
Trier set a season best with 27 points in an 85-72 win over Fresno State on December 10, 2015.
During the Pac-12 regular season, Trier injured his shooting hand in a 101-103 defeat to USC on January 9, 2016, while scoring 25 points.
Trier was gone for approximately a month before returning on February 6, 2016, against Washington. Trier scored 7 points after returning from injury to help his side win 77-72.

Positive Drug Test
Trier was suspended by the NCAA after random drug tests were conducted in October. He was suspected of using performance-enhancing drugs and testing positive (P.E.D.).
Trier had a vehicle accident in the summer and was administered a medication without his knowledge, it was subsequently discovered.
Trier eventually filed an appeal and was granted permission to return after the NCAA reviewed his medical records.
Return to Basketball
Trier made his first debut after 19 games against UCLA on January 21, 2017. He returned to help Arizona upset UCLA 96-85 with 12 points, seven rebounds, and four assists.
Trier had a fantastic sophomore season, leading the team in scoring with 17.2 points per game. He also won the Pac-12 Tournament in 2016-17 and was a standout performer.
Junior Year
Trier Trier has had a strong start to his junior season, scoring 20 points or more in five straight games since the season began. Trier set a career best with 32 points in a victory over Northern Arizona on November 10, 2017.
Second Drug Test Positive
Trier was found positive for the usage of P.E.D. by NCCA on February 22, 2018. Trier was then ruled ineligible for the game.
