Darius was so skilled at basketball that he played on a trip team against much older opponents and eventually joined AAU in Nashville since local teams didn’t match his expectations.

He attended Brentwood Academy after moving to Nashville, Tennessee, in sixth grade.

In eighth grade, he was named to the Brentwood Academy varsity team’s starting lineup.

His outstanding play remained throughout high school. On December 23, 2015, as a sophomore, he was named MVP in the King of the Bluegrass Holiday Classic.

In March 2017, he was named a Naismith Trophy High School All-American honorable mention.

After remarkable high school basketball, Darius entered the 2018-19 season as the best recruit in Vanderbilt’s history.

And, as expected, his college career was just as successful as his high school career, if not better.

He was one of 77 players selected for the NBA Draft Combine.
