Cunane played four years for the NC State Wolfpack, starting most of the time. She was instrumental in NC State women’s basketball’s four ACC titles during her tenure.
After graduating from NC State, Cunane played two seasons for Zabiny Brno in the Czech Women’s Basketball League. She signed with the Mystics without a team announcement.
