In 1974, Jigna Vora was born in the Ghatkopar district of Mumbai. She is fifty-nine years old. At the University of Mumbai-affiliated DG Ruparel College, she pursued her legal education. She also has a diploma from the K. J. Somaiya Institute of Management in Mumbai in public communications. Her interest in criminal reporting at K. J. Somaiya was piqued by her tutor, Velly Thevar, a renowned crime reporter for The Times of India. In 1998, she got married and moved to Bharuch, Gujarat. Following her divorce from her husband in 2004, she took her four-year-old child back to her maternal home in Garodia Nagar, Ghatkopar. She made the decision to become a single mother of her son and pursue a career in the media.

On December 4, 1998, Jigna Vora tied the knot following her graduation from Ruparel College. He had given up a prominent law firm internship for this arranged union, which her parents had requested. According to her parents, her spouse was an engineer who ran a printing company in the Gujarati city of Bharuch. She eventually came to the wrong conclusion about the claims, which led to a difficult marriage and eventual divorce. She is a boy’s mother. at 2009, at the age of eight, Vora enrolled her kid at a Panchgani boarding school.

Professional life and Career

After completing her official education, she was hired as a court reporter for the Free Press Journal (FPJ) in November 2005, where she spent 10 months. Her first assignment was to cover gangster Abu Salem’s case in the TADA court at Arthur Road Jail. In the six years that followed, she also worked her way up from rookie reporter to deputy chief of bureau for an English broadsheet, covering crimes from all angles. In 2006, Jigna also started working for the Mumbai Mirror as a court reporter, covering the sessions court in Kala Ghoda, Mumbai.

Her articles also  on the activities of right-wing terror groups in Gujarat, the murder of gangland operator Fareed Tanasha in Tilaknagar, and an Andheri land scam involving a landlord who  declared dead multiple times but  actually alive and well the entire time  among the stories that brought her praise. Prior to her arrest for suspected involvement in the murder of J Dey in 2011, she also served as the Deputy Chief of the Asian Age Bureau.
