Childhood and Education
Thumma Chandramouli and Thumma Radha welcomed Konda Surekha into the world on August 19, 1965, in Warangal. She attended LB College at Kakatiya University and received her degree there. She later developed a political interest and joined a party, gradually moving up the ranks.
Professional life and Career:
Konda Surekha also chosen to serve on the Mandal Parishad in 1995. In 1996, she named a PCC member, and in 1999, she also received an M.L.A. from Shayampet. In addition to serving on the Women and Child Welfare Committee and the Health and Primary Education Standing Committee, she elected Treasurer of the Congress Legislature Party in 1999. She chosen to be an AICC member in 2000. In 2004, she was also chosen as the Congress party’s official spokesperson and elected as the MLA for Shayampet. She designated as the Municipal Corporation’s Ex Officio Member in 2005. She was sworn in as Minister for Women’s Development and Child Welfare, Disabled and Juvenile Welfare after winning the 2009 Parkal MLA election.
She also served as Minister for Women’s Development and Child Welfare and Minister for Juvenile Welfare under Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy. But once YSR passed away, she also resigned since, despite the support of most MLAs, his son, Y. S. Jaganmohan Reddy, not named Chief Minister. She also resigned from her MLA post on July 4, 2011, initially in support of the Jagan cause and then when YSR’s name mentioned in the FIR. In the June 12, 2012, by-elections, she also entered the Parkal assembly constituency as a candidate for the YSR Congress Party.
