Kris Marshall Weds His Wife On A Snowy Evening

Kris Marshall, the former Death in Paradise star, has been married for over 7 years. Actually, he married the love of his life, Hannah Dodkins, on February 4, 2012. Marshall and Dodkin took their relationship to the next level after walking down the aisle in a quiet ceremony near Wells Cathedral at the Swan Hotel.

On Saturday afternoon, the bride and groom appeared unfazed by the snow, smiling and posing for photographs. According to reports, only about 30 people were chosen to take part in the low-key wedding ceremony. Alyson Gough, one of the attendees, recalled his memory;

“It was a small and intimate ceremony held in the garden room, which is separate from the rest of the hotel.”

Furthermore, Alyson stated that “the hotel’s other guests may not have been aware there was a wedding going on.” In addition, a man who attended the couple’s wedding stated, ‘I don’t know if or where they went on honeymoon afterward.’

Returning to the present, Kris and Hanna began their journey in early 2010. The couple got engaged in November 2011 after spending quality time together for several months. There are no misunderstandings anymore, and extramarital affairs have come to light. However, as a happy and perfect couple, the two enjoy their 7-year relationship, giving their fans perfect love goals.

Kris Marshall’s Reason for Leaving Death in Paradise

Kris announced his departure from the detective drama, which was shot in the Caribbean, in February 2017. Marshall is said to want to return to the UK to spend more time with his wife Hannah and their two young children. He admitted that filming in the Caribbean every year had become extremely difficult for him.

In an interview with Radio Times, he stated,

“We took Thomas out with us every year except last year. They didn’t come out last year because my daughter was born, and she was only three months old when filming began. Thomas has spent nearly half of his life in the Caribbean. He went to the same nursery in Guadeloupe every year. But now he must put on scholastic shackles and toe the line.”

He continued,

“My wife and I talked about it three or four years ago. My son was six months old and my wife was not working when I was first offered the job, so it was a simple decision. We agreed that I would do Death in Paradise for a few years until it became too difficult. It was always a limited resource. I didn’t keep it a secret from anyone at work.”

He eventually revealed that he and his wife had agreed that he would leave the show once their children started school. Meanwhile, Kris made the following observation:

“It’s been an incredible experience working on Death in Paradise, six months a year filming on a tropical island in the sun – what’s not to love?”

He leaves a wonderful message, proudly admiring, to his role as Humphrey Goodman.

“Humphrey was socially awkward and clumsy, but he was also brilliant; I’ll miss him, but it’s time to hand over the reins to someone new and spend more time with my family.”

Following Kris’ departure from the show, it was announced that he would be replaced by Ardal O’Hanlan, best known for his work on Father Ted.
