On New Year’s Eve, the two adolescents were killed. When an officer collided with their automobile while pursuing a suspect in a home invasion at high speed.
Maggie’s brother Liam Dunn was also in the car when it collided and is in critical condition.
Officer David Cauthron Arrested After Car Crash Kills
According to The Advocate, in pursuit of Tyquel Zanders, 24, 42-year-old Addis Police officer David Cauthron allegedly jumped a red light and struck the car carrying the minors.
Zanders was detained after his car stalled. According to the outlet, and was eventually charged with home invasion, vehicle theft, and aggravated escape. According to KKTV, he is also facing manslaughter allegations.
Cauthron, 42, was arrested on Sunday and charged with two charges of negligent homicide. And one case of careless harm, according to KKTV.
The officer was pursuing the suspect, Tyquel Zanders, after he reportedly stole a relative’s automobile.
According to WBRZ, Cauthron did not use his brakes before hitting with the vehicle. In which the girls and Liam were riding.
Where Is Officer David Cauthron Now?
It is unknown whether the suspects have retained attorneys or entered pleas.
