In 1959, Margaret Nyakang’o was born in Kenya. She is an educator and holds a doctorate in business administration from the University of Liverpool. She also holds a Master of Business Administration with a strategic management concentration from the University of Nairobi. Professional life and Career
She started her career in government and finance in November 1983 while working as the Controller and Auditor’s Office’s Principal Auditor. Before leaving in October 1994, she served in this capacity for ten years. She worked as a controller and auditor for ten years before going on to work for other Kenyan companies, including Nairobi Evangelical Graduate School of Theology, Bob Morgan Services Limited, Harambee Sacco Society, and Lake Basin Development Authority. In November 2008, she was appointed Director of Finance and Administration at the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics.
