“The Masked Singer” introduces its oldest competitor to date with this episode.

On the launch of Season 9 on Wednesday, “The Masked Singer” revealed two of its stars, one of them is the show’s oldest participant it has ever had.

The judge panel consisted of Ken Jeong, Jenny McCarthy, Nicole Scherzinger, and Robin Thicke. Dick Van Dyke, who is 97 years old, was the first of two celebrities to announce their identities to the panel. The Masked Singer

Due to the fact that Van Dyke is of such a venerable age, the premiere had been promoted as “the most iconic, decorated, and revered unmasking in history” before to its airing.

Van Dyke, while disguised as Gnome, sang a cover of Billie Holiday’s song “When You’re Smiling.”

The panel initially picked Tony Bennett and Dustin Hoffman, but they quickly realized that it was actually Van Dyke, who had previously performed “When You’re Smiling” by Frank Sinatra.

Van Dyke, who played Bert the chimney sweep in Mary Poppins. He performed a snippet of “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious” from the musical just before he was eliminated from the competition.

 

When he revealed his identity to Scherzinger, the actor from “The Dick Van Dyke Show” reduced the singer to tears. She greeted him with the words, “I love you very much. We love you. You are so incredibly loved by everyone on the planet. It is a privilege to have you as a guest on our show. It blows my mind that you’re in this room. I’m doing my best to act nonchalant, but you look absolutely stunning. You have such a dashing appearance.

In addition, Jeong mentioned that it was the “best surprise ever” on the show.
