In the 1980s and 1990s, Tim White began serving as Andre the Giant’s representative. He began working as a referee on the side in 1985. Also, He transitioned to being a referee full-time following Andre’s passing in 1993. He routinely made appearances on WWF television tapings and pay-per-views. He presided over one of the most illustrious wrestling matches in history, the Hell in a Cell match between Mankind and The Undertaker on June 28, 1998, at King of the Ring. On Judgement Day in 2002, he sustained a shoulder injury during a Hell in a Cell match between Chris Jericho and Triple H. During the last three counts of the 2004 contest between Chris Jericho and Christian, he sustained another shoulder injury.

In December 2005, he made a contentious on-screen presence at the Armageddon pay-per-view. SmackDown! reporter Josh Mathews had an interview with a “despondent” White inside the Cumberland, Rhode Island, tavern he operated, the Friendly Tap. [3] He appeared to be intoxicated and stated that the aforementioned Hell in a Cell battle “ruined his life.” Then, off-screen, White pulled a shotgun out from under the bar and discharged it, seemingly with the intention of killing himself. In January 2006, it was made public that White had unintentionally shot his foot during the “ordeal.”
He was interviewed by Mathews again that month; this time, he attempted suicide, but the rope snapped. The official WWE website just posted a new video in which Mathews attempts to interview White, who is on the verge of committing himself, in a different way each week. The segment gained a following on the WWE website and was given the moniker Lunchtime Suicide. It was posted there every Thursday during lunch. The WWE.com footage from April 2006 shows White shooting Mathews. Mathews had been invited by White to a gathering at the Friendly Tap. In 2009, on January 9, he quit WWE. When WWE celebrities made visits and signed autographs, he then supplied security.
