After three years, Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah will return to helm the franchise.
Will Smith and Martin Lawrence have confirmed that they will team up once more for the fourth installment of the “Bad Boys 4 ” franchise.
Sony Pictures has announced that Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah will return to direct the untitled sequel.
In 2020’s “Bad Boys for Life,” which reunited Smith and Lawrence as Miami-Dade detectives Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett, 25 years after the first “Bad Boys” movie was released, the filmmakers, who also worked on Warner Bros.’ shelved “Batgirl” film, also directed.
Sony revealed that a fourth “Bad Boys” movie was in the works shortly after the third sequel hit theaters, and “Bad Boys for Life” went on to become one of the final blockbusters of the pre-pandemic era, grossing $426.5 million globally.

Tuesday morning, Smith and Lawrence shared a reunion video on social media with the caption, “IT’S ABOUT TIME!” signaling that the upcoming film was now moving forward.

As Smith travels to Lawrence’s house, the video says, “Hey, I have some news to share.” “You all need to pause scrolling.” The first few notes of “Shake Ya Tailfeather,” a song by Nelly, P. Diddy, and Murphy Lee from the 2003 soundtrack to “Bad Boys II,” are played by Smith as a small hint. “I wish I was you, not knowing what I’m about to show me.”
The two announce the arrival of the fourth movie as they approach Lawrence’s door. “It’s about that time!” Larry screams.
“Bad boys for life, baby,” Smith continues, referencing the duo’s catchphrase. As they jokingly admit that the title of the third movie effectively wasted the pun. Which they could’ve used for the upcoming fourth film. Smith quips, “We shouldn’t have called it that though.”
Thus, Jerry Bruckheimer, Smith for Westbrook, Doug Belgrad, and Chad Oman are in charge of producing the unnamed sequel, and Lawrence, James Lassiter, Mike Stenson, Barry Waldman, and Jon Mone are in charge of serving as executive producers.
