Lionel Messi’s wife, Antonela Roccuzzo, kisses him after Argentina’s World Cup win
After Argentina defeated France in a chaotic World Cup 2022 end on Sunday, Lionel Messi’s wife found it difficult to conceal her emotions.
At Lusail Stadium in Qatar, Antonela Roccuzzo was captured in a photo watching Lionel Messi win his first World Cup victory after Gonzalo Montiel converted the go-ahead penalty.
Roccuzzo, who has been married to Messi since 2017, was spotted watching the 35-year-old athlete score two goals against France, one on a penalty kick in the 23rd minute and another in overtime at the 108th minute, while wearing his No. 10 shirt and a white cap.
Argentina won the World Cup for the first time since 1986 after defeating previous champion France 4-2 in penalty kicks.
Following the victory, Roccuzzo and their three sons—Thiago, 10, Mateo, 7, and Ciro, 4—greeted Messi on the field. In a beautiful moment, Roccuzzo also kissed Messi on the cheek.
Over the past two weeks, Roccuzzo has regularly posted photos from the World Cup on Instagram to update followers on her family’s activities.
Roccuzzo posted a picture of herself cuddling up to Messi earlier this month and titled it “Momentos,” which is Spanish for “moments.”
Prior to this year’s competition, Roccuzo shared a photo of the couple’s three sons standing by a Christmas tree while wearing Messi’s shirts.
In November, she posted on Instagram, “Here we come Qatar!”
Messi and his ardent fans can now savor every second of this richly deserved victory lap.
