Michigan co-OC Matt Weiss is on leave as a result of a reported investigation.
An athletic department spokesman told multiple outlets Tuesday that Michigan has placed co-offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Matt Weiss on leave while the university’s police department investigates his possible involvement in computer-related crimes on campus.
According to the Detroit News and ESPN, police searched Weiss’ Ann Arbor home on January 10. Police have also looked into Schembechler Hall, the home of the Michigan football team.
“The University of Michigan Police Department is investigating a report of computer access crimes that occurred at Schembechler Hall between December 21 and 23, 2022,” said University of Michigan deputy chief of police Crystal James in a statement, without naming Weiss. “There is no additional information to share because this is an ongoing investigation.”

Weiss, 39, just finished his second season on the Michigan coaching staff. Between seasons, he was promoted to co-offensive coordinator with Sherrone Moore.
Michigan is coming off a 13-1 season that included a Big Ten title and a College Football Playoff semifinal loss to TCU.
Jim Harbaugh announced on Monday that he will return in 2023, despite reported interest from NFL teams.
